Slab began with a slim, minimal silhouette, a single pane of glass set off centre in a deceptively simple metal shroud. It wraps the hand-slumped glass and the light unit within a 36 mm profile. The standout is the IP65 body, kept intentionally slim so the glass takes the focus.
The light unit sits hidden inside the shroud and sends light up and down through the glass. The 6 mm face catches it as it leaves, refracting and reflecting it, so the glass glows above and below the metal and works as a natural diffuser. Ribbed glass gives an architectural line, and Sand Textured a softer, more organic one.
The light is indirect. It washes the wall and reaches the ceiling or the awning above, so the space around Slab becomes the reflector. Brass, stainless steel and glass suit outdoor spaces as well as interiors, from a front entrance to the rooms inside.
